Sodium

Per the FDA, the maximum daily recommended intake of sodium for adults and children 4 years and olderis 2300 mg per day.

The sodium in this product is a combination of sodium naturally occuring in the foods/ingredients and the sodium from salt used to impact the taste.

The daily intake of sodium for adults and children 4 and older can be found in approximately 1 tablespoon of salt (i.e., sodium chloride). Read the nutrition information on your food labels to help you stay within your limits.

This meal delivers less than 500 mg of sodiumper serving, which is less than 1/4 of your maximum recommended daily intake. Read the nutrition information on your labels to help you stay within your limits.

According to MyPlate.gov, sodium is an essential nutrient needed in small amounts. It is important for many body processes, including muscle contraction.  That said, most Americans exceed the recommended limits for sodium in the diet, and sodium is a nutrient to get less of.

Autolyzed yeast extract results from the breakdown of yeast cells to release amino acids, salts and carbohydrates. It provides a “meaty” flavor to foods and is often mixed in with seasonings in snack foods, stocks and broths. Because autolyzed yeast extract contains free glutamic acid, those who are sensitive to monosodium glutamate or MSG  should look for the yeast extract on the label. Autolyzed yeast extract is considered by the USDA or FDA to be safe for this intended use.

Salt is an important ingredient in the manufacturing of many types of cheese, but we work with cheese makers to give you cheeses with great taste and limited salt wherever possible.
Cheese is found in the dairy food group. Did you know that 3/4 ounce of hard cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella, swiss, parmesan) or 1 ounce of processed cheese (e.g., American) is equivalent to 1/2 cup of milk?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This use to be my favorite! But now its too spicy! I use to buy this almost weekly for many years until you started making it too spicy. I never buy it anymore. The original was perfect...why change it?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way too Salty This was my first time purchasing this item and the last time. Spent 45 mins heating it up at a family function, we all took a bite of the enchiladas, and threw the whole tray out. Was so salty it was inedible, and I like salt in my food. We recommend changing the recipe to a less saltier version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GOOD DISH, ESPECIALLY IF TOP WITH GUACAMOLE + SOUR Was surprised that there was so MUCH RICE and it was white rice. Enchiladas NEED MORE CHICKEN in them. However, I use only the enchiladas and TOP with guacamole and sour cream and has a really good flavor this way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost as good as my own! I usually keep one in my freezer for those times I just want something delicious, high quality and filling. Sometimes I'm too busy (or lazy!) and I've never been disappointed with these. All I add is a little salsa at the dinner table to make it just right. The only thing I would improve would be more chicken.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to love this product I bought this for my family at least twice per month until you changed the recipe from mild to medium. We tried the new medium and it was so spicy none of us could eat it. We have not bought it again and very disappointed that it was changed when it was so good in original form.
