Autolyzed yeast extract results from the breakdown of yeast cells to release amino acids, salts and carbohydrates. It provides a “meaty” flavor to foods and is often mixed in with seasonings in snack foods, stocks and broths. Autolyzed yeast extract is considered by the USDA or FDA to be safe for this intended use.

Ratings & Reviews

Steak Mushroom Cheddar Flatbread Melt is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My ALL TIME FAVORITE! But always out of stock! I love this item! Its literally my favorite thing in the world to eat...BUT... every store in my area has not had this item for the last year. This is very upsetting to me. I wish that Stouffers would allow me to purchase it directly from them!! A year ago everytime one of my local stores stocked up...i bought them all! Now i cant even buy one. This is very upsetting on a personal level, because when i took care of my mother...it was our favorite late night meal we would have together nearly every night. She passed away and now i cant enjoy it as it reminds me of her.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Where's the filling? We buy Stouffer's meals frequently for those nights we don't feel like cooking. Bought this one to try for the first time because it looked so good from the picture on the box. I followed the directions exactly. Unfortunately, most of the cheese melted onto the packaging & there was barely any 'steak' or mushrooms & what little there was didn't have much taste. As with most foods we purchase, I can only assume that special batches are made to photograph for the packaging since they usually have little resemblance to the actual product. The flatbread itself was actually pretty tasty, but I won't buy it again since it was soooo lacking in fillings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE Absolutely love!! Could use a bit more cheese but could just be me. Its almost always sold our very hard to find so others must agree and I'm not into frozen meals but I'd rat this several times a week! Directions are pretyy good. (I do 2 minutes in my microwave on a plate not the foil thing just my preference) I like them soft and not crazy hot. From one to next it's very consistent in quality. Please come out with more like this I love there is no peppers nothing that gives heart burn. My birds even love to try these. Maybe a white meat chicken version? I would buy that too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very tasty I was visiting a friend and she made these for our lunch. I don't normally go for heat and eat lunches. I will say it was surprisingly tasty, although it was a bit light on the inside. My only other complaint is I may be the only person in America without a microwave oven with no real plans to purchase one. It would be nice if there were alternative methods for heating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing Lunch!! I would not suggest this sandwich to anyone, I have had other Stouffers food that I have been happy with, I prepared this just as the directions said and there was barely any Meat, Mushrooms or cheese, and after I left it set for the 1 minute it was flavorless, one bite and in the trash, womp womp!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected Just purchase and was extremely pleased. Not a fan of mushrooms but I did enjoy this sandwich. Could use more beef. Great amount of cheese. Now if Stouffers could make more varieties. Also need to find a place tip purchase at a better price or catch when on sale. Would definitely buy again.
