Grandma’s Chicken and Vegetable Rice Bake is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 152.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tasty but the chicken is sometimes gnarly Overall I really enjoy this dinner. I don’t keep track of vegetables like the other reviews, so maybe it’s light on veggies. But my problem is when I bite into a chunk of chicken and can’t chew it. The one I cooked last night had mostly all gnarly pieces of chicken so I am just eating the rice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality has gone down My wife and I have been fans of this product for years, however lately we have noticed a drop in quality. The chicken that used to be flavorful and tender in now flavorless and rubbery, the cheese sauce is now also flavorless. The quantity of vegetables in the meal has drastically reduced. We were so disappointed with the quality in our last purchase, which we ate last night, that we have decided we are no longer going to buy this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chicken and rice I’ve ever bought. I now watch for the sales at my local store and stock up. The flavor is excellent!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two different directions Ok so I followed the instructions on the box and ended up like another review with a frozen meal. Well I decided to look up online what the directions were and found out these instructions on the site are completely different from on the box. If it's cooked like on the site it turns out great. If you follow the box instructions you end up with it still frozen in places. I took off one star due this. Please update your box instructions so consumers are cooking it properly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grandma would be thoroughly disappointed. My hubby & I recently purchased this meal in the 'family size' (this size makes 2 meals for us) a few days ago at our local walmart. It promptly went in the freezer until tonight when I decided to make a warm casserole for our rainy Sunday evening meal. I opened the untampered box to the plastic film already being cut off the dish, barely held on by one side of plastic. Thie directions say 'do not vent', so I did the only thing I could & covered it with foil. I baked it as directed to be sure it was cooked completely, but when it came time to dish up plates, it was still FROZEN in the center, & full of water around the sides. I decided not to give up & placed it back in the oven for a bit (watching closely) to see if that would help (mind you, this dish ALREADY cooked for 90 minutes, which is ridiculous for a frozen meal), it wound up having to be in the oven for over 30 extra minutes--meaning this dish took over 2 hours to make. The topping wasn't crunchy, the rice was nothing but mush, the chicken (what little there was) was rubbery and hard to chew, & there were pretty much no veggies in it. I had to make broccoli to put in the bowls with it so there would be SOME sort of veggie component to our meal. The overall flavour of the dish was like extremely watered down chicken broth & nothing, the 'rich cheese sauce' didn't even taste of cheese at all. After forcing myself to eat half a portion (because we had to eat SOMETHING for dinner, & I was too exauhsted to cook anything else), I was left with a terrible aftertaste & stomach issues. For a product that costs over $11, from a company that supposedly prides themselves on their dish flavours, affordableness, & convenience--my family has been repeatedly let down by this brand. This dish is yet another to chalk up to the already long list of this company's products we will no longer purchase. Grandma's name is on the box, but I'm pretty sure she'd be disappointed to see what's been done to her recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious Didn’t know what to expect thought it would taste very artificial. Luckily it didn’t it taste like a real home cooked meal. Think I like it better than the lasagna.
