Rated 3 out of 5 by June_Cleaver from Time travel back to the 1950s I remember when we got our first microwave. It was 1986 and life changed as we knew it. Gone were the hours my mom spent slaving over a hot stove, a sink filling with dirty dishes and the kids nagging about when dinner would be ready as sweat ran the length of her spine from having to use the stove and oven. For the past twenty years of my adult life, I've lavished in having a microwave and the purpose behind such innovative pieces of machinery. I was no longer restricted to being a domesticated being, joining the ranks of men working 9-5, while still having to go home and feed the same helpless beings and playing domestic goddess. Most women do not ask to work eighteen hour days, but somebody's got to be the responsible adult and Stouffer's quickly becomes a woman's best friend as they walk in the door from work after having picked up the dry cleaning, the kids from soccer practice, a gallon of milk, and glue for a science project, greeting their beloved who's in the living room rising from their hour long nap to take in some evening news and calling out what's for dinner? Women everywhere rejoiced at being able to pop a Stouffer's family size meal in the microwave and having dinner ready in 30 minutes so they could focus their time helping the kids with homework, scrubbing the bathrooms, and getting a few loads of laundry done before retiring to bed, long after everyone else in the house has to repeat the circle of life four more times that week and every week to come until gender equality becomes a focal point somewhere around 2015. For years Stouffer's Family sized dinner provided time saving microwave directions reducing dinner times from from 90-120 minutes, down to 45-60. These family meals were a staple, a push towards equality as men too were finding themselves capable of unboxing these frozen rectangles and placing in the microwave for 30 minutes. Here we are, 2016, the year of feeling the Bern and what do I find when I go to cook my beloved Stouffer's? No microwave directions. Gone are the dinner in 30 minutes nights as I have been transported back to the 50s where I now have to fire up the oven, take out baking dishes and tell the kids to eat some carrots because dinner won't be ready until bedtime. Stouffer's pokes women's fight for gender equality saying, hey, nuke that thing, but just long enough to remind you of it's purpose in the kitchen and then stick it in the hot oven reminding you of your place in the kitchen for the next 40 minutes. So for all of your Rosy the Riveter types, and that includes you Dad's, who provide the sustenance your family needs but don't have precious time to waste, I've got your Microwave instructions! Eat up I say and feel empowered by your microwave once more!!! Microwave Oven (1100 W): 1. Leave film on tray, do not vent. 2. Cook on high 9 minutes. 3. Uncover, continue cooking on 50% power 21 minutes. 4. Let stand 5 minutes. Will be hot! Directions developed using 1100-watt microwave oven. Ovens vary; Cooking time may need adjusting.Keep frozen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MollyMol from Does not taste frozen or pre-made! Delicious! A friend brought this to us when we moved into our new house since everything was in boxes and we needed to eat. I was shocked at how good it was. Usually frozen or pre made foods taste that way...even if they're still pretty decent. This lasagna is actually DELICIOUS! It's not even worth taking the time to make it myself anymore. I don't even bother....I just buy this! My husband will eat anything, but I'm pickier, and I love this dish! I will say, however, that I accidentally bought the Italian version of this last week by mistake, and I wish I could get my $11 back. It wasn't very good. I usually can't wait for leftovers, but I had to force myself to eat the leftovers of that one. I won't make that mistake again. The cheese (Ricotta?) was pasty and the pasta itself was hard and just not good. A world of a difference between that one and this one. One star versus five stars! No, six stars! Seriously....I love this dish! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by hamptonette from Filling and tasty..... .....although I neglected to read the ingredients, I think there was only sausage in it and no beef which my family would've preferred. I enjoyed it for a quick meal adding a salad and garlic toast but usually simmer my own sauce when I make my homemade lasagna.
