Rated 1 out of 5 by from The sauce has changed Throughout our 45 year marriage, we have done Chicken a la King on a semi regular basis when we wanted an 'easy, quick' dinner night...last night, we bought three of them at the Harris Teeter and 'over cooked' them as usual. Now, it's probably been 6-8 months since we ate it, but THE SAUCE WAS DIFFERENT, and it was not better, it was much worse. First we noticed the color and then the taste. It was not the white it is usually, it was 'cheesy' color...and it tasted like a cheesy alfredo type sauce. Definitely not the same as it always has been ; very disappointing. I'd like to know what has changed in the manufacturing of the sauce and to tell Stouffer's to please go back to the original. Thanks for listening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great taste.just not enough I've been buying this product for many years and really enjoy the taste. unfortunately the portion is so small it's not enough for a man's size appetite. It's in the category of lean cuisine or jenny Craig portions. Come on stouffer's, give a little so we don't have heat two portions every time we want to enjoy a meal. This is why we don't buy it often because it's just too small of a portion for the price that it costs. HINT. people would buy your product more often on a regular basis if the portion was a little more therefore increasing your profits.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it has changed for the worse I guess it's been a while since had the chicken ala king. As written in other reviews, the recipe has definitely changed. For Stouffer's to say it has not is like them saying the sky is red when you know it's blue. I knew it was different as soon as I opened the package. What was a cream colored sauce is now tan/brown. The taste is noticeably different. Maybe the old recipe had something that research showed is harmful but PR doesn't want to make public. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but for them to say everything is the same is ridiculous. I wish I had an old box to compare ingredients. Chicken ala king has for years has been my favorite easy meal, but now I don't think I'll buy this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the best! This is my absolute favorite frozen dinner! Tastes fantastic, and doesn't leave me with a "yucky" feeling I often get after eating frozen dinners. I seriously could eat like a dozen of these. My only complaint is that the portion size is so small, so you have to eat 2 or 3 of them to be full. And, at $2.50 a pop, that gets a bit pricey. I wish Stouffer's made a "family size" version of this, or at least a larger version, so that we have a meal with it without having to buy several small ones. But, seriously, this is the best. Absolutely fantastic meal!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sauce Is Different I've grown up eating this for a quick meal, and I just bought some and cooked it and I noticed it was a darker more yellow colored sauce and after tasting it, it tastes different too- I want to say it's too sweet and slightly cheesy tasting. The overall color is yellow rather than a creamy whiter color I am used to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality control, never the same contents For several months now I have noticed that there are always different quantities of the ingredients - sometimes a lot of rice, sometimes not enough; sometimes enough vegetables, sometimes hardly any. There are always too many chicken chunks, though, which are my least favorite as they are not 100% real chicken. As another customer mentioned, there is a problem with the sauce being browner now. I tried to make one the other day but when I lifted the plastic to stir it after the first 4-1/2 min, there was not a creamy white sauce, but a sickening chunky brown; I threw it away thinking it was spoiled. Unfortunately the second box bought with that one, as well as another bought a few days ago at a different store also have the same gross brown sauce. Out they are going; a waste of money. What's going on here? Can someone fix the recipe and keep it consistent like the photo on the box?! I also have been eating this for over 40 years and it was better when it was in the boil bags!4

I recently bought this one and to my surprise it was like Christmas, so much red and green bell pepper in the dish, if overwhelmed the flavor. I did not care for it at all. I'll try it again but if this is a new recipe, that's it for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have eaten Stouffer's chicken a la king forever as one of my absolute favorites in the classic line, but my last three experiences with this dish have been horrible. The sauce recipe has been altered and it tastes awful. I bought them from different locations at very different times, so I do not think it is just one batch. I am very disappointed because this was my go-to meal when I did not have time to cook. Whatever has been changed in the sauce, please change it back.
