Rated 1 out of 5 by yyewopooer from The sauce has changed Throughout our 45 year marriage, we have done Chicken a la King on a semi regular basis when we wanted an 'easy, quick' dinner night...last night, we bought three of them at the Harris Teeter and 'over cooked' them as usual. Now, it's probably been 6-8 months since we ate it, but THE SAUCE WAS DIFFERENT, and it was not better, it was much worse. First we noticed the color and then the taste. It was not the white it is usually, it was 'cheesy' color...and it tasted like a cheesy alfredo type sauce. Definitely not the same as it always has been ; very disappointing. I'd like to know what has changed in the manufacturing of the sauce and to tell Stouffer's to please go back to the original. Thanks for listening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Aggy from Poor quality control, never the same contents For several months now I have noticed that there are always different quantities of the ingredients - sometimes a lot of rice, sometimes not enough; sometimes enough vegetables, sometimes hardly any. There are always too many chicken chunks, though, which are my least favorite as they are not 100% real chicken. As another customer mentioned, there is a problem with the sauce being browner now. I tried to make one the other day but when I lifted the plastic to stir it after the first 4-1/2 min, there was not a creamy white sauce, but a sickening chunky brown; I threw it away thinking it was spoiled. Unfortunately the second box bought with that one, as well as another bought a few days ago at a different store also have the same gross brown sauce. Out they are going; a waste of money. What's going on here? Can someone fix the recipe and keep it consistent like the photo on the box?! I also have been eating this for over 40 years and it was better when it was in the boil bags!4

I recently bought this one and to my surprise it was like Christmas, so much red and green bell pepper in the dish, if overwhelmed the flavor. I did not care for it at all. I'll try it again but if this is a new recipe, that's it for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sophie12 from Different sauce - yes indeed! (Not Good) I too have eaten hundreds of the delicious Chicken a la King over the last 25 years. Not an exaggeration! But now - the sauce is terrible - no matter where I buy it -It has changed - there is no doubt. Has ruined this wonderful dinner for me. Also the chicken tastes "odd" - this has been the case now for at least a year. I won't buy any more - especially at the price. have bought at 3 different "high end" stores - still the same disappointing waste of money

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dixie from Hard to find, but I'll never stop looking This is one of my favorite comfort foods - and hard to find these days, Stouffers brand or otherwise. The chicken seems high quality white meat and the proportion of chicken/sauce to rice is perfect. (I wouldn't mind brown rice, but...) Please don't discard it like you did chicken divan to replace with more "trendy" entrees.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jenn from Sauce Is Different I've grown up eating this for a quick meal, and I just bought some and cooked it and I noticed it was a darker more yellow colored sauce and after tasting it, it tastes different too- I want to say it's too sweet and slightly cheesy tasting. The overall color is yellow rather than a creamy whiter color I am used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TeeJay from Been eating for years. I've been eating this dish for a long time. I've tried dozens of times to emulate it with little success. As with any cooked product there are some minor variations in the color and taste, but it's great practically every time. I can't get enough of the chicken, it's amazingly soft and juicy.

But the last few have had a darker sauce and is just not the same after a little taste. Ended up throwing them away thinking they were spoiled. Terrible waste of $
